W Frame
This truss falls into the group of our commonly found frame trusses. It appears to have been widely used in the 18th - 19th century, though it has been found on frames dating to the 16th century. It is composed of a pair of braces inclining inwards with jack braces going from brace to sill, and brace to head.
It is essentially a Z frame with jack braces.
